The Role of the 12G-SDI Optic Module
In an ROV, the primary challenge is transmitting extremely high-quality video and data from the vehicle (subsea) over a long umbilical or tether to the surface control station. Copper cable has limitations in distance, is susceptible to noise, and is heavy.

A 12G-SDI Optical Module solves this by converting the electrical 12G-SDI signal (which carries ultra-high-definition video like 4Kp60/8Kp30) into a digital optical signal (light) that can be transmitted over a single, lightweight fiber optic strand within the tether.

BY-SDI-102 with Micro Size is suitable to install in the ROV Tube.

BY-SDI-102 is a broadcast-quality converter/extender that sends 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI up to 6.2 miles over singlemode fiber with embedded audio. 
The BY-SDI-102 over fiber extender with 12G SDI SFP provides instant fiber connectivity. Designed for professional broadcast use in video production and editing, this transmission system features automatic equalizing and reclocking and an SDI loop out on the transmitter.
